The Saskatoon Transit has been serving thousands of residents in the city.

SASKATOON — Residents will get free rides on the provincial and civic elections, with the Saskatoon Transit providing a special pass to reach their polling station conveniently.

The free transit rides aim to reduce residents' barriers to voting in the provincial elections on Monday, Oct. 28, and the city elections on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

The free pass is available on SaskatoonTransit.ca or at the Transit Customer Service Centre, City Hall, Civic Leisure Centres, or a Saskatoon Public Library.

A printed pass is not required; electronic versions on mobile phones will be accepted. Upon boarding, show the operator a printed, downloaded picture or screenshot of the pass.

The pass is only valid for the provincial (Oct. 28) and civic (Nov. 13) elections. It can be used multiple times on fixed-route, OnDemand, and Access Transit and expires at the end of the day.

Trips can be planned using the mobile app Transit or Google Maps Transit up to two weeks in advance to help find the best route to a polling station.
