YORKTON –  Long-time Yorkton resident, Lenore Pinder, has worked in Saskatchewan health care for over 20 years.

SaskToday.ca reached out to Pinder via email ahead of the upcoming Provincial election where Pinder said she is very active in the community and has served on various boards working to make Yorkton a better place.

Pinder says she is running for the Saskatchewan NDP because after 17 years of Scott Moe and the Sask. Party, "it’s time for change."

What do you see as priorities for your area?

Pinder has been knocking on doors all across Yorkton, and the one thing she hears consistently is concern for the state of our health care system. People are struggling to find a family doctor. They are frustrated because Scott Moe and the Sask Party have driven our health care into last place in the country.

What is your plan on:

Affordability

The Saskatchewan NDP’s plan focuses on lowering costs for families, and delivering affordable childcare. Carla Beck and her team are committed to making life more affordable for families.
On Day 1, the Saskatchewan NDP will cut the gas tax, saving families 15 cents/litre at the pumps.

Health

The Saskatchewan NDP is getting healthcare out of last place with our comprehensive plan to hire more doctors and nurses, improve emergency services, and ensure timely access to care. Our Grow Your Own Strategy will focus on training and retaining healthcare workers from Saskatchewan, ensuring local talent fills critical roles.

Education

The Saskatchewan NDP believes every child deserves a quality education. With a generational investments, we will hire more teachers, build new schools, and support students with diverse needs.

Public safety

In addition, we will tackle crime by investing in more law enforcement and community safety programs, as well as more support for mental health and addiction programs.

Highways

Improving highways is also a priority for the Saskatchewan NDP and we will connect rural communities through better planning of road infrastructure.

What is your stance on the federal Carbon Tax?

The Saskatchewan NDP does not support the federal carbon tax, and Carla Beck has written to all federal leaders calling on them to scrap the tax to lower costs for Saskatchewan families.

Most pressing issue affecting your constituency?

Conversations with constituents on their door steps consistently point to their anger and dissatisfaction with the Sask Party government handling of healthcare. They are ready for change with Carla Beck.

After 17 years of waste and mismanagement — it’s time for change.
