Sharon Thibault is Watrous-Humboldt Green Party candidate

HUMBOLDT - Sharon Thibault is the Saskatchewan Green Party candidate for Humboldt-Watrous constituency. Thibault is a resident of Manitou Beach, located in the riding. Thibault believes in community service and cooperation and looks forward to those beliefs guiding her role as MLA. 

Thibault received her 4th Class power engineer technical program certification through Vancouver Community College in B.C., as a single mother. Thibault then completed the Residential Contracting Course, Small Business Course, the Excel and Microsoft Word E.I. Program, and finished with Property Management 1000- BOMA – and is a Licensed Realtor. 

Over the course of her career, Thibault has worked as a steam plant engineer, then as a janitorial manager supervising 13 employees, handling payroll, supply budgeting, bookkeeping, scheduling, training and ordering supplies and consumables. Thibault also pursued building operations and was responsible for mechanical systems, general maintenance and repairs to commercial buildings, ordering janitorial supplies and consumables, building security, obtaining quotes and prices for cost projections and overseeing contractors and volunteers.

Thibault also was a property manager, where she was responsible for renovations and repairs, handling contractors, bookkeeping for budgets, operating expenses, accounts receivable using Excel, and court processes.

"Few MLAs have actually been where Thibault has been, where the rubber hits the road and things are made to work," says the Green Party. "Her practical perspective will be very valuable in our Legislature."

Thibault is a lifelong volunteer who has been an active member of the Lion’s Club, the Salvation Army and the Elks Club. Thibault was on the Cabri Seniors Coop as executive committee president. She served on the membership committee of the Calgary Apartment Association and on the executive board of the Christian Women’s Club. Thibault also volunteered with the Delta Court Committee, where she founded the Grandparents Program. She currently volunteers for arts events locally in her home community of Manitou Beach.  

Thibault is the kind of person who sees a need and innovates to find a solution that lasts. Thibault was the founder and president of the Sunrise Babysitting Exchange, which has 150 members and still operates today, 35 years later.
