REGINA - Final tallies are in for the 2024 Advance Polls in Regina and there has been a slight increase seen in the number of people voting.
Advance polls were open Nov. 1 to 4 in Regina at several locations in the city. According to the numbers released by Elections Regina, a total of 15,190 votes have been cast, up from 14,374 in 2020.
Numbers by voting location were also released. The total number voting at City Hall was 2,208, with 839 voting inside and 1369 using the drive thru. That’s down from 2020 numbers which showed a total of 2,720, with 914 voting inside and 1806 using the drive thru.
Numbers were up for the South Leisure Centre to 3498 (up from 2918), Northgate Mall to 2549 (up from 2171), Northwest Leisure Centre to 3174 (up from 3153), and Victoria Square Mall to 3496 (up from 2412). This year there was also a Nov. 4 poll at University of Regina where 265 people voted.
As well, the City reports it has received over 3,000 applications thus far for mail-in applications. Polls will be open again on Election Day, Nov. 13.
