REGINA — The City of Regina is investing $500,000 in the city’s downtown to enhance the downtown experience for residents, visitors, and businesses.

The city is creating initiatives developed in partnership with the Regina Downtown Business Improvement District (RDBID), which are set to be implemented in the Summer of 2024.

The planned initiatives will include increased road and sidewalk maintenance, enhanced cleanliness, vibrant murals, landscaping enhancements, ongoing entertainment, and more.

Mayor Sandra Masters said these efforts aim to create a lively, welcoming, and enjoyable downtown experience.

“Our downtown is the heart of our city,” said Masters. “We know that cultivating a vibrant and active city centre not only makes it a more attractive place for residents and visitors but also contributes to its safety. Through our valued partnership with the RDBID, we hope to encourage more folks to experience the exceptional restaurants, businesses, and amenities that our downtown has to offer.”

Masters added that these initiatives reaffirm City Council and administration’s dedication to enhancing Regina’s Downtown as a thriving destination for all.
