Cut Knife RCMP search for the Grinch after theft of Christmas lights

More than 250 check stops in Cut Knife and Neilburg resulted in all sober drivers and one three-day suspension for cannabis use.

Cut Knife RCMP Report Nov. 25- Dec. 8

A 35-year-old male from Little Pine First Nation was arrested for uttering threats against a person.

Members received a call of an individual punching holes in the walls. Members attended and there were no signs of mischief. No further action was required.

RCMP received a call of an unwanted person at a residence. Members attended and the unwanted person had left. No further action required.

Members received a complaint of a stolen license plate. Insufficient evidence to proceed

A 30-year-old male from Poundmaker Cree Nation was arrested for assault.

Members received a call of a suspicious vehicle. Members attended and attempted to locate the individual but were unable to locate them.

RCMP received a call of an individual punching holes in the walls. Members attended and patrolled the area but were not able to locate the individual.

Members received a call of an individual breaching contact conditions. Individual was contacted and told to block the subject of complaint as they were not on conditions. No further action was required.

RCMP received a call of an aggressive dog. Members attempted to contact complainant of the proper channels to contact for dogs. No further action was required.

Members received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members attended and talked with the subject of complaint who was not in distress. No further action was required.

RCMP received a call of a breach of peace. Members attended and mediated between the parties. Both sides were satisfied with solution and no further action was required.

Members received a call of a theft of funds. The funds were later returned, and police were no longer required.

RCMP received a call of a youth damaging property and yelling. Family not looking for charges, just resources to help. Members referred family to CFS. No further action required.

A 28-year-old female from Poundmaker Cree Nation was arrested for assault, mischief under $5,000 and public mischief.

Members received a call of an unwanted individual trying to fight people at a residence. Members contacted complaint who stated the subject of complaint left and members are no longer required.

RCMP received a call of two individuals needing to be removed from a residence. Members attended and the individuals were removed without incident. No further action was  required.

Members received a call of two individuals arguing. Members attended and both parties had separated, members spoke with both individuals and no further action was required.

RCMP received a call of an individual breaching contact conditions. Members attended and there was no evidence of breaching conditions. No further action was required.

Members received a call of a theft of Christmas display lights. Members scoured the town for the Grinch but was unsuccessful. Property was recovered. No further action was required.

RCMP received a call of an argument between two individuals. Members attended and a 34-year-old male from Onion Lake was arrested for outstanding warrants. Victim declined to proceed with charges for the argument, no further action required.

Members received a call of an individual coming and breaking their door. Members attended and there was no evidence of the door being broken. No further action was required.

RCMP received a call of an individual breaching contact conditions. Members attended and no conditions were being breached. No further action was required.

Members received a call of a Mental Health Act complaint. Members attended and spoke with the individual. Individual was taken to a safe place with someone to watch over them. No further action was required.

RCMP received a call of lots of noise by their door. The individual’s door was locked and in a place with lots of foot traffic-noise was determined to be passersby. No further action was required.

Members received a call of an individual uttering threats. Members spoke with complaint. No further action was required as this is related to an ongoing civil issue.

RCMP received a call of an assault. Members attended and the victim refused to provide a statement. No further action was required.

Members received a call of an individual asking members to help move. Told this wasn’t a police issue. No further action was required.

RCMP received a call of an unwanted individual at a residence. Members attended and the individual was removed and relocated to another location. No further action was required.

There were also one false alarm and two traffic complaints that resulted in two tickets and two warnings.

Received a call from a 17-year-old male reporting he got hit by a truck, while he was in his side by side. Members responded and tracked down the truck and individual were charged.

RCMP members attended a call at a house regarding an intoxicated family member causing disturbance. Members followed up with the complainant, the intoxicated individual was no longer at the residence and no one was willing to provide the statement. No sign of mischief.

A 36-year-old female reported an intoxicated individual was banging at the office door. RCMP members talked with the complainant, the individual was no longer at the office. Members patrolled the area and were unable to find the individual.

RCMP Members attended a family dispute complaint and found out that the individual had no contact condition. Members explained the condition and drove him to a different house with no charges.

A 72-year-old individual reported the car was making noise and lights were flashing. Members explained it was a car alarm and after the alarm was off the individual no longer wanted the members to attend.

Members responded to call regarding a suspicious person pushing on their door when the residents where a sleep, members patrolled the area nobody was located.

Received a call from an individual with a concern the members had possibly stuck her dog. Members spoke to the individual and explained that her dog was struck by a passing vehicle and members had to dispatch of the injured dog.

Members received a complaint regarding a theft of a truck plate no CND2763 2017 Dodge Ram.

A bench warrant was issued to an individual who failed to attend the court.

Members responded to a call regarding a vehicle collision with the deer. Members conducted the investigation; no further action was required. The vehicle was towed and no injuries to the occupants.

Members responded to a family dispute call and advised them to talk to a lawyer. Members made sure of the wellbeing of the child.

Received a call from a 55-year-old female asking for ride home, then she stated she found a ride.

A 17-year-old reporting mom and dad having a verbal fight. Investigation was carried out and no further action was required.

A 911 call came in husband reporting after a verbal fight wife expressed suicide. Members located the wife and confirmed her wellbeing.

53-year-old female reported when she and her husband was on a walk with her dog and other dog ran towards her dog.

RCMP members received a tip regarding an individual selling narcotics.

RCMP members received a call from an individual complaining that members drove through their farmyard drive way. Members explained it’s an ongoing investigation looking for a suspect vehicle.

Members responded to a call regarding an intoxicated individual, person was arrested and held until sober.

Members received a call from an individual stating he got kicked out of house. Members provided a courtesy ride.

Members responded to alarm and checked the property and determined as false alarm.

Members responded to a third party uttering threat complaint. No further action was needed.

Telus Security reporting an alarm hit and property representative phoned and stated there was no emergency. No further action was required.

Members received a call from an individual stating he was approached by another individual stating he was going to hurt himself. Members patrolled found the individual. No further action was required.

Members received a call regarding an abandoned vehicle. Members attended and the vehicle was not blocking any traffic. No further action was required.

RCMP Member responded to a call regarding a small plastic bag of unknown substance.

Members responded to a call regarding an individual yelling. Members patrolled the area and the individual was not located.

Members responded to call regarding an individual was hit by a hatchet and the individual was not cooperative did not provide who the other individual hit him. EMS was rejected.

Members responded to call and roadside suspension was given to an impaired driver.

CN Police reported a crossing malfunction.

Members received a call from an individual and heard a yelling in the background. Members attended the residence found an intoxicated person upset and the individual was given a ride to friend’s house.

A warning was issued for an individual for speeding.

A traffic collision was reported. Members did the investigation, and no further action was required.

EMS phoned in for assistance in getting to a house because of bad weather. Members provided a ride to paramedics to and from the patient.

Members received a call regarding a person talking about suicide. Mental health nurse were involved and resources and safety plans were made.

Received a call regarding traffic collision, an individual slid off the roadway into ditch. No injuries and tow truck was called. No further action was required.

A 44-year-old individual reported her and her daughter were physically fighting. Members arrested her and took the daughter to Next of Kin.

Members responded to a call, a white car in a pile of snow not a hazard or blocking any traffic. No further action was required.

Members responded to an uttering threat complaint. Investigation done; no further action was required.

AROUND THE COMMUNITY:

Members did a school presentation on drugs at Little Pine school.

Members on days off helped flip burgers at the rink during a hockey tournament.

 

Cut Knife RCMP Report Dec. 9- 15

Members received a call from a 15-year-old male in need of a place to stay who was cold for being outside. Members attended and spoke with the individual, and found them family they could stay with. No further action was required.

RCMP members received a call regarding a vehicle stuck in the field with intoxicated occupants. Members attended and one person was charged and the others were provided ride home.

A 48-year-old female phoned to report an assault, members attended. No visible injuries and no EMS was needed and the individual was not ready to provide a statement.

An individual was charged for not providing fingerprints.

A third-party complaint came in regarding an individual threatening to rob a store. Members attended and photos and statement were taken.

Members helped a 67-year-old female with a frozen screen door.

RCMP Members assisted Calgary Police service in finding a missing person.

A 24-year-old intoxicated individual was arrested and held until sober for not following with the conditions.

Someone accidentally hung up on 911. The individual was located, and members spoke to them. There was no emergency. No further action was required.

Members received a call from a parent reporting their child being disrespectful and throwing stuff. Members advised it’s a parenting issue and provided some resources. Members did not attend.

Members responded to a 911 call regarding a 27-year-old female driving intoxicated. Members patrolled the area.

Members dealt with a non-suspicious sudden death of an elderly person.

Members responded to a call regarding unwanted person at a home. Members attended the situation. No further action was required by police.

A 46-year-old female requested a wellbeing check. Members attended and there was no issue. No further action was required.

An individual reported her son was intoxicated and ranking out, members attended the situation the son had already gone to bed.

Members responded to a call regarding an individual been assaulted. The individual was transported to hospital. Members patrolled the area.

Members received a call regarding someone heard shooting at a house. Members patrolled the area and were not able to corroborate the gun shot noise.

Members responded to a call regarding a teacher being assaulted by a student. Matter still under investigation.

A three-day roadside suspension was issued to an intoxicated individual.

Members responded to a call regarding two females arguing, Members attended the situation, peace was made and both went separate ways.

Members attended a call regarding a concern about the safety of a grandchild. Members located the vehicle, and mom was issued a ticket and members followed them home.

A warrant was executed for Saskatoon Police Service.

Members responded to the call regarding an intoxicated individual walking out of the house without shoes and coat, the individual was located at a different house.

Members responded to a call regarding a dispute over a vehicle. No further action was required.

A warning was issued to an individual for speeding.

An individual phoned to report her sister was intoxicated and didn’t want her at the house. Members phoned and the individual stated sister left and no longer needed the police.

A 29-year-old female reported that she wanted an individual removed from her vehicle.

Members received a call regarding a mom blacking out, on call back everything was calm and no further action required.

An individual was warned for breaching the conditions and advised them with proper ways to change the address.

EMS reported an assault at a house, members attended and spoke with the individual. Individual was unwilling to provide statement.

Members received a call regarding a 34-year-old individual being intoxicated and fighting. Members attended, found the person sober and no signs of disturbance.

AROUND THE COMMUNITY:

Cut Knife RCMP did a presentation with the RM of Cut Knife On-Body Worn Cameras.

Cut Knife RCMP did a static check stop on Dec. 14 in the communities of Cut Knife and Neilburg. Increased traffic patrols in the communities of Marsden, Poundmaker Cree Nation and Little Pine First Nation. Over 250 vehicles were stopped and spoken to. Mandatory alcohol testing was done, with all drivers being sober of alcohol. One driver was issued a three-day suspension for cannabis use while driving.

 

RCMP Report – Dec. 10 - 16

Unity Report

RCMP received a complaint of trespassing. The subject of complaint left the area. Members did not attend.

Police received a complaint of a break and enter at a shop near Denzil. This matter is still under investigation.

Members received a complaint of an individual not complying with a court order. This matter is still under investigation.

RCMP received a complaint of a stolen snowmobile. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a report of a vehicle collision with a deer. There were no injuries. Reported for insurance purposes.

Members received a complaint of a break and enter at Denzil Arena but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

RCMP attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle fled from police. The vehicle was later located in a field near Scott and had been stolen from the Provost, Alta. area. This matter is still under investigation.

Members received a report of a lost firearm. This matter is still under investigation.

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was not stolen nor a traffic hazard. No further police action required.

RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter at Denzil Bar. This matter is still under investigation.

There were also two false alarms.

Wilkie Report

RCMP received a request from Saskatoon Police Service to locate an individual in the detachment area.

Members attended the sudden death of a 79-year-old Wilkie male. The death was not suspicious in nature.

Police received a report of an unwanted individual at a business. Members attended and transported the subject of complaint to a shelter.

There were also three traffic complaints.

Macklin Report

RCMP attended a residence fire. The fire was extinguished by Macklin Fire Department and was not suspicious in nature.

Police received a report of a break and enter at a motel room but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

There was also one false 911 call and one false alarm.
