REGINA — A Canadian record-breaking leap in the T64 Para long jump secures Janz Stein as December Athlete of the Month.

Stein’s 6.49-metre jump at the Larmer Friendship Games in Regina broke his own Canadian National Record of 6.26-metres, set in 2018 and earned a silver medal.

He also competed in the masters men’s 60-metre dash, placing second with a time of 8.10 seconds.

The record-breaking jump helps Stein be considered a top candidate for Team Canada for the 2024 Para Athletics World Championship in Japan.

Stein was nominated by Saskatchewan Athletics.
