REGINA - For 15 years, Doug Kudelis and 10 of his co-workers have played lottery games together. On May 30, the group won $100,000 on their Western Max and Extra ticket!

“I scanned the ticket on the Lotto Spot app,” said Kudelis at his prize claim interview. “I didn’t believe it what I was seeing and asked another group member to check the ticket as well.”

“That check showed the same thing – we won $100,000!”

Kudelis said he took a screenshot of the win and sent it to the other members of the group, who also had a hard time believing they had won.

“Everyone thought it was a joke,” he laughed. “I kept getting texts asking, ‘Is this for real?’ It’s hard to believe when it happens to you.”

The Regina-based group includes members Kudelis, along with his wife, Lorri, Don Kozey, Dave Ottenbreit, Leanne Moerike, Mike Yung, Brian Urschel, Scott Landrie , Darrell Kudelis, Rick Euteneier and Randy Schultz..

Kudelis said most group members are planning to use their $9,090 share of the win to pay some bills and take vacations.

Kudelis purchased the group’s winning ticket from Park Street Drugs, located at 2415 Park Street in Regina. They won their prize by matching the last six digits of the Extra number drawn May 30 – 2896974.
