REGINA -The Regina International Film Festival and Awards is now officially underway.
RIFFA runs from August 1-5 in Regina at various venues, with the Shu-Box Theatre at the University of Regina being the locale to watch official selections. Movie lovers can see the competition submissions at $10 a ticket, and passes are also available for the festival.
There will also be free events including the Canadian Dialogue Series and the Global Citizen Series, which are free to attend with a Regina Public Library Card.
The Canadian Dialogue Series will showcase films addressing social issues within the Canadian context from Aug. 2-4, with titles "A Better Man," "Twice Colonized," and "Connecting the Dots.”
The Global Citizen Series will focus on global issues by presenting the documentaries "The Magnitude of All Things," "Milk," and "Gaza,” on August 2, 3 and 4
Starting Wednesday at 9 p.m., the festival will offer RBC Moonlight Movies downtown in City Square Plaza. They will run August 2-4 and titles for each of the three days are “Puss in Boots: the Last Wish, “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves”, and “Lightyear.”
The vendor market also runs in Victoria Park Aug. 2-4.
