REGINA - Candice Choquette went to check her Lotto 6/49 ticket after thinking she’d perhaps won some free plays. What Choquette didn’t expect was to be told by the Lotto Spot retailer that she won $100,000 on the Dec. 23 draw.

“It was like ‘wow!’ I was stunned,” she said while claiming her prize. “I wasn’t sure if I had actually won or if the number meant something else.”

“I wrote the number on a piece of paper for my husband,” she continued. “He thought it was a joke! Then it was happiness, overwhelming gratitude!”

The Regina winner said she is going to take some time deciding what to do with her winnings, but home renovations are certainly part of the plan.

“It feels wonderful,” she said. “I buy tickets every week and this is just such a great surprise.”

Choquette purchased her winning $16 ticket at Truesdale Shell, located at 3165 East Truesdale Dr. in Regina. She won her prize on one of the ten Guaranteed Prize draws on Dec. 23 by matching the number selection 35492617-03.
