President-elect Trump held a rally yesterday where he said, "As of today, TikTok is back," later adding, "we have no choice, we have to save it." During his remarks, he suggested the U.S. might own 50 per cent of the company in a “joint venture” that would “make a lot of money.”
I'm going to leave the speculation about exactly which forces were playing chicken this past weekend to pundits and conspiracy theorists. Clearly, this is a dynamic situation, and we can expect many twists and turns in the coming days.
