REGINA - Ward Three councillor Andrew Stevens has made it known he is planning to move on following this fall’s municipal election.

Stevens has confirmed he will not run again for council in the Nov. 13 municipal election. He announced his intentions in his spring/summer Ward 3 Report sent to residents in the ward.

“Finally, after eight years on Council I am looking forward to moving on to other things,” Stevens stated.

“This is a promise I made to my family back in 2016. It’s been an absolute pleasure serving the community and working with residents. I’m proud of the accomplishments of our City and the changes that we’ve brought about. Please note that the shape of Ward 3 will be very different in the November 13 municipal election, so pay attention to where your neighbourhood is now located on the ward boundaries. I wish the future Mayor and Council all the very best!”

In the meantime, Stevens will continue on council, where he recently co-sponsored a Notice of Motion for a name change to Dewdney Avenue. That will come to council to be debated at the June 12 meeting.
