BIG ISLAND LAKE CREE TERRITORY - Update, Dec. 19, 2024, 10:57 a.m.: Pierceland RCMP have arrested a man wanted after a firearm was discharged on Big Island Lake Cree Territory.
On Dec. 17, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Pierceland RCMP, with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP's Critical Incident Response Team, located and arrested 23-year-old Trent Oseemeemow at a residence on Big Island Lake Cree Territory. He was wanted by Pierceland RCMP on multiple warrants for firearms- and weapons-related charges.
The suspect was scheduled to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Dec. 19.
Original post, Nov. 6, 2024, 3:59 p.m.: Police are looking for a wanted man after a firearm was discharged on Big Island Lake Cree Territory.
On Nov. 2 at approximately 5:10 p.m., Pierceland RCMP received a report of a firearm discharged on Big Island Lake Cree Territory.
Officers responded and determined a man in a vehicle was parked near a home. A second man with a firearm exited the residence, discharged the firearm and damaged the vehicle. No injuries were reported to police.
As a result of continued investigation, 23-year-old Trent Oseemeemow, from Big Island Lake Cree Territory, is charged with: discharge a firearm with intent; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; possess a firearm when knowing unauthorized; possess a firearm when prohibited; fail to comply with release-order conditions; and mischief, damage to property over $5,000.
Pierceland RCMP continue to investigate.
A warrant has been issued for Oseemeemow's arrest. He is also wanted on warrant from Pierceland RCMP for breach of court-ordered conditions and failing to attend court.
Oseemeemow is described as approximately 5'11" tall and 165 lbs. He has brown eyes and brown hair.
