Suspicious death being investigated in Bell's Point area

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Bell’s Point area between Oct. 7 and Oct. 10 to contact them.

BELL'S POINT AREA - The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating a suspicious death in the Bell's Point area.

On Oct. 10 at approximately 12 p.m., La Ronge RCMP received a report of a deceased individual at a home in the Bell’s Point area of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

La Ronge RCMP immediately responded and secured the scene for further investigation. Due to the circumstances of the incident, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating the male’s death, which is considered suspicious. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is assisting with this ongoing investigation.

The man has been identified and next of kin notification is still occurring. Police are not providing additional details about the man at this time.

Police are unable to provide additional information about this investigation at this time. Updates will be provided when available.

If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, the police said they will notify the public.
