Kamsack man charged in death on Keeseekoose F.N. back in court

In November of 2022, Kamsack RCMP were called to the Keeseekoose First Nation, where they found a 16-year-old Cote First Nation boy deceased.

YORKTON - A new court date has been set for a Kamsack man, who admitted to his role in connection with a death on the Keeseekoose First Nation.

Last month, 43-year-old Edgar Kakakaway Senior pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to murder. He was to be sentenced on July 25 in Yorkton Court of King’s Bench, but the matter was adjourned to Sept. 26.

In November of 2022, Kamsack RCMP were called to the Keeseekoose First Nation, where they found a 16-year-old Cote First Nation boy dead at the scene.

Edgar Kakakaway Junior, 20, of the Keeseekoose First Nation, is charged with second degree murder in the incident. He remains in custody, and is to appear in Kamsack on Sept. 24, for a preliminary hearing.
