Loon Lake RCMP ask for public's help after break and enters

The Makwa Cabin Association has a scheduled meeting at 10 a.m. on July 27 to discuss the issue.
LOON LAKE - Police are looking for the public's help following a number of break and enters in the Loon Lake area recently.

Saskatchewan RCMP Crime Watch Advisory is reporting the Loon Lake area has been experiencing a high volume of break and enters, and thefts in the past four weeks.

The Loon Lake RCMP Detachment is asking that all suspicious activity be reported as soon as possible. The RCMP is reminding people to ensure their cabins, houses and out buildings are safely guarded with locks, motion lights, and video surveillance if available.

The RCMP asks the public if they are leaving their property unattended, to make arrangements to have someone check it regularly or even daily.

Police also recommend homeowners put away their personal items inside their cabins and homes, and close their curtains and blinds so nothing is visible.

The RCMP is asking families in the area to continue to be vigilant in checking on their neighbours' property when they are away, and to immediately report anything unusual.

All suspected crimes committed must be reported to the Loon Lake RCMP as soon as possible, so police can respond quickly.

Loon Lake RCMP also asks that all community members download the Everbridge App on their cell phones, to receive timely notifications from the police. Community members that are signed up on Everbridge are encouraged to share this App with other residents.

The Makwa Cabin Association has a scheduled meeting at 10 a.m. on July 27 to discuss the issue.

RCMP encourage the public to report any incidents to Loon Lake RCMP at 306-837-2440 or Crime Stoppers.
