On March 26 at approximately 2 a.m., Spiritwood RCMP received a report of an injured individual on a pathway on Pelican Lake First Nation.
PELICAN LAKE FIRST NATION - Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes are reporting a man has been charged with manslaughter after another man was declared deceased on Pelican Lake First Nation.
On March 26 at approximately 2 a.m., Spiritwood RCMP received a report of an injured individual on a pathway on Pelican Lake First Nation.
Officers immediately responded and located an injured adult male. He was declared deceased at the scene by EMS. He has been identified as 29-year-old Kirk Thomas from Pelican Lake First Nation.
The circumstances were suspicious and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation.
As a result of continued investigation, a male suspect was arrested at a residence on Pelican Lake First Nation later in the day.
Craig Thomas, 32, from Pelican Lake First Nation, is charged with one count, manslaughter.
He is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 27.
