Man facing attempted murder charge in Waterhen Lake FN shooting

WATERHEN LAKE FIRST NATION - Two people have been charged following a shooting on Waterhen Lake First Nation.

Around 6:15 p.m., Feb. 8, Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of a shooting at a home on Waterhen Lake First Nation.

One male was reportedly injured and was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries. 

As a result of the continued investigation by Meadow Lake RCMP, Saskatchewan RCMP’s General Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Services, two 42-year-old men were arrested on Waterhen Lake First Nation without incident on Feb. 8.

Logan Lapratt, 42, from Waterhen Lake First Nation, is charged with:

  • one count, attempted murder;
  • one count, aggravated assault;
  • one count, discharge firearm with intent.

Another 42-year-old man, from Waterhen Lake First Nation, is charged with:

  • one count, aggravated assault;
  • one count, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

Both accused appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Feb. 10.
