Dolores W. (Lukan) GriemanFebruary 5, 1929 - September 1, 2011 It is with profound sadness that the family of Dolores (nee Wirtz) (Lukan) Grieman of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt, SK, (and formerly of Pilger, SK) announces her death on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at her residence. She was 82 years of age. Dolores was born on February 5, 1929, to Louis and Elizabeth (nee Wourms) Wirtz in Pilger. She attended Colorado School where she excelled, until having to leave school after Grade 8 to help raise her younger siblings, following the untimely death of her mother. During that time, Dolores also worked at Labrash's and Kelly's stores in Pilger. On November 6, 1951, she married Dennis Lukan, also of Pilger, and their union was blessed with seven children. In 1967, Dennis passed away, and with great dedication and sacrifice, Dolores raised her seven children alone. In 1993, she moved to the Harry Ford Centre in Humboldt where she met Joe Grieman. They were married on October 11, 1997, and enjoyed a happy but all too short time together with Joe's passing in 1999. Due to failing health, Dolores moved to St. Mary's Villa in 2007. She resided there until her passing. Dolores had many interests which included dancing, singing and quilting. Her faith was extremely important to her, and she attended daily mass when her health allowed. Dolores devoted her life to her family with love and caring, and was one of the most compassionate persons you could meet. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. Dolores will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by four sons, three daughters, 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren: Daryl Lukan of Regina Beach and family, Morgan (Melissa) Lukan, and Jeremy Lukan (Lauren Chapman); Audrey (Randy) White of Saskatoon and family, Russel White, Charrone White, and Mitchell (Carlynn) White; Aaron (Ellen) Lukan of Humboldt and family, Robyn Lukan (fiancé Sean Moore), and Avery Lukan; Cal (Maggie) Lukan of Barrie, ON, and family, Sydney Kovacs, Lisa Kovacs, and Cameron Lukan; Randy (Gayle) Lukan of Okotoks, AB, and family, Aaron Nickel, Amy (Grant) Coupland and their children Abigayle and Ella, Sammi Lukan, and Nick Lukan; Denise Lukan (Glenn Denney) of Prince Albert; and Dawn (Jeff) Thorimbert of Prince Albert; six step-children of the Grieman family: Duane (Marianne) of St. Gregor, Brian of Saskatoon, Lyle (LilyAnn) of Saskatoon, Tim of Humboldt, Mike of Saskatoon, Anthony of St. Gregor, and their families; three sisters and two brothers: Marie Winkel of Humboldt, Lorraine (Alois) Jaeb of Humboldt, Leander (Therese) Wirtz of Surrey, BC, Lavina (John) Jackman of Surrey, BC, and Severn (Chris) Wirtz of Christopher Lake; sister-in-law, Marion Wirtz of Regina; many in-laws of the Lukan family; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
