Florence ReveringJune 23, 1922 - September 1, 2011 The death of Florence Revering of Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake, SK, (and formerly of Lake Lenore, SK), occurred at her residence on Thursday, September 1, 2011. She was 89 years of age. Florence was born to Paul and Anna (nee Theusch) Revering in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Humboldt, SK, on June 23, 1922. She grew up on the family farm near Lake Lenore and attained her education at Lake Lenore, Schuler and Solo schools. Florence loved the farm and working outdoors. She especially liked helping with the chores. Florence was always willing to help wherever she was needed. Much of her life was spent as a caregiver, taking care of her mother until her passing as well as many other elderly people, and babysitting her nieces, nephews and, eventually, their families. Over the years, Florence enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. She was musically inclined and loved to sing and play the guitar and accordion, which she did on many occasions. As well, Florence enjoyed interior house painting, picking berries, crocheting, playing bingo and cards, and taking her nieces and nephews for picnics in the pasture, with a quart sealer of coffee and some sandwiches. Undoubtedly, they all have fond memories of those outings. Florence was known for her amazing memory, and she would never forget a birthday or an anniversary. After she moved from the farm into Humboldt, Florence continued to care for many elderly people. When her own health started failing, she moved to Bethany Pioneer Village, her home until the present. Florence will be lovingly remembered by one brother, Dan Revering of Lake Lenore; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Anna (nee Theusch) Revering; sister, Viola Vedress; brother-in-law, Victor Vedress; and by her sister-in-law, Rose Marie Revering. The Prayer Service for Florence was held at St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Lake Lenore, on Sunday, September 4, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., led by John Boskill. Scripture readers were Cliff Revering and Allan Schemenauer. The Funeral Mass was offered at St. Anthony's R.C. Church on Monday, September 5, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Fr. Richard Meidl, OSB. Others taking part were: Brian Doepker, cross bearer; Michael Boskill and Stephen Revering, altar servers; Lila Vedress and Elaine Boskill, scripture readers; Collette Voellmecke, intentions; Joan, Kerry and Sherry Vedress, gift bearers; Allan Hartl, eucharistic minister; Julie Schemenauer and Colleen Hartl, memorial table attendants. Honorary pallbearers were "all those who shared in Florence's life." Active pallbearers were Ed Vedress, Cliff Vedress, Delmer Vedress, Paul Revering, Glen Revering and Rob Revering. Interment followed at St. Anthony's R.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to either Bethany Pioneer Village or St. Anthony's R.C. Cemetery Fund. Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel, Humboldt, SK.
