ARBORFIELD - The new Arborfield In Motion stage has a line-up of musicians and entertainers that will be a popular attraction for many in Arborfield from June 8 to Sept. 15.

Colleen Walton, Arborfield Music Group volunteer, says it takes all of them working together to put on the concert series in Arborfield. The Arborfield Music Group featured its first entertainer, Danny Kazam, magician on June 8. Kazam is from Lumsden and put on a show that entertained the entire crowd. Unfortunately they had to move into the community hall because of rainy weather.

The concert series summer schedule is:

June 8 – Danny Kazam, Magician and puppeteer at 2 p.m.

June 26 – For the Love of Country at 7 p.m. – Country singer and gospel

July 7 - Leonard Gray “Troubadour” at  7 p.m. – Country and gospel singer

July 10 – Drew Derksen Band at 7 p.m. – Blend of original and current alternative country and country/rock

July 24 – Lenvale Elevators at 7 p.m. – Electric country rock

Aug. 7 – Larry Krause and Timberline at 7 p.m. – Country music award winner

Aug. 21 – Ashley and Dylan Borody – Contemporary and easy listening music

Sept. 15 – Gospel Jamboree

The Drew Derksen band, Larry Krause and Timberline have won Saskatchewan Country Music Association (SCMA) awards. Ashley and Dylan Borody all have recordings available and the Lenvale Elevators were popular last year, Walton said, so expect the same this year.

“The young and old all enjoyed the show very much and was neat to see the kids start out quiet and further away from the stage and with the excitement, they just moved closer to be right in the front.” They had about 65 in attendance from Arborfield and surrounding communities at their first show. The crowds have ranged around 75 to 100 for entertainment in the past.

All the entertainment is from Saskatchewan: Danny Kazam - Lumsden; For the Love of Country - Arborfield; Leonard Gray - originally Arborfield now Saskatoon; Drew Derksen Band - Moose Range/Carrot River; Lenvale Elevators - Star City/Lenvale; Larry Krause and Timberline - Paddockwood; Ashley and Dylan Borody - Carrot River.

Walton said, “So far the gospel jamboree is local but we are still hoping to book a gospel singing family to headline.”

“It's exciting to have another summer's lineup of concerts. Our aim is to bring good family entertainment to our small town at a reasonable price and enjoy the outdoors. We had a successful season last summer and look forward to even more attending this summer. Music is good for the soul.”
