TISDALE — The Saskatchewan Party has selected their standard-bearer for the next provincial election in Carrot River Valley.
Terri Bromm was acclaimed as the party's candidate.
Bromm is from Tisdale. She graduated with a bachelors of science in pharmacy from the University of Saskatchewan. Early in her pharmacy career, she owned and operated a Shoppers Drug Mart, first in Tisdale and then in Lacombe, Alta. Bromm told SASKTODAY.ca that her family had moved to Tisdale in 1980, and attended high school there and also lived in Sylvania for a short time when they first moved to the area.
In 2000, she and her husband Ian relocated back to Tisdale. She has been a pharmacist for 25 years and worked in community and long term care practice in multiple communities including Tisdale, Nipawin and Arborfield. She has served on Tisdale Town Council, public service boards, and the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacists. She currently works as the Business Development Officer for Community Futures Newsask in Tisdale. Terri and Ian have two grown children.
"I want to support economic development and growth within our region, and support access to quality services," Bromm said. "I was the provincial director for the Carrot River Valley constituency association from January 2021 to March 2023."
Bromm said she is excited for the opportunity and her next steps would be to maintain and work hard to earn support as we move forward to the next election.
“I’m honoured to be the Saskatchewan Party candidate for Carrot River Valley,” Bromm said. “I look forward to meeting with constituents across all of our communities as we head towards next year’s election.”
The current MLA for Carrot River Valley is Fred Bradshaw, who was first elected under the Sask. Party banner in 2007. He will not seek re-election.
“I want to thank Fred Bradshaw for his years of dedicated public service,” Bromm said. “I’ll be working hard to make sure Carrot River Valley continues to have a strong voice in our Legislature.”
With Bromm’s nomination, the Saskatchewan Party has now nominated 29 candidates in advance of the election.
The provincial election is scheduled for Oct. 28, 2024. The premier can choose to hold the election earlier.
