This week , several new extra-curricular activities are starting up.

Last weekend, the senior girls' volleyball team went to Rosetown for provincials. Although, they did not make it to playoffs, they worked hard and had a great experience. Since that has wrapped up volleyball season, both senior and junior basketball leagues have started.

Book Club also started up recently with the return of our librarian and Book Club leader, Mrs. Bailey. Wednesday, yearbook members attended a workshop, hosted by yearbook representative, Lori Ann Kapluck. Many ideas were shared and passed along to make this yearbook better than ever. If you would like to sponsor this year's yearbook, you can purchase an advertisement for $20. If you are interested please contact the school.

Next week our student leadership counsel is holding a spirit day for Movember. Next Wednesday, all students are encouraged to wear a moustache. There will also be a guessing contest where students can pay $1 to guess how many chocolate balls and peanuts are in the jar. All the proceeds will be donated to Movember to raise money for prostate cancer awareness and research.

MHS SADD Chapter is raising money by selling raffle tickets for an iPad. Tickets are three for $10 and some of the proceeds will go towards students attending the Canadian Youth Against Impaired Driving conference in Edmonton. If you are interested please contact Mrs. Bailey at the school.

Next week, the Leadership 30 Class is hosting a Golden Age Supper for seniors 70+ years of age. It is Sunday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. at the Senior Citizens' Drop-in Center in Maidstone.
