Sorry folks, but I took some time for me this summer. I went camping with my family in early July. Each summer Mom and Dad, my brothers and sister and their families and my family get together.

Bill and Noreen Williamson of Mervin celebrated their 50th anniversary July 9 in Mervin.

Sorry folks, but I took some time for me this summer. I went camping with my family in early July. Each summer Mom and Dad, my brothers and sister and their families and my family get together. I also helped out at the Midwest Miniature Horse and Pony Club's annual show during Lloydminster's Colonial Days Fair. Then in mid-August, John and I went to Bashaw, Alta. to attend the annual general meeting of the Canadian Dexter Cattle Association. Now we are set and ready for the school year.

July 9, a come and go tea was held in celebration of, my parents, Bill and Noreen Williamson's 50th anniversary. Their actual anniversary date is June 10. Family and friends joined us from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Mervin Complex. Mom and Dad raised five children and now boast 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. They farmed together and produced grain as well as ran a dairy. During these years they ran us to hockey for the boys and curling for the girls. Mom also returned to the workforce and nursed until her retirement seven years ago. Now they are active in Mervin and numerous other adventures.

July 9, a bridal shower was held for bride elect, Cassie Roach, daughter of Darryl and Louise Roach of Edam. Cassie married Brett Jullion, youngest son of Guy and Emily Jullion of Edam, July 23. The young couple will be making their home in Warman, where Cassie will be teaching Grade 2 and Brett is employed as a safety consultant in Saskatoon. Congratulations and all the best in your life together.

July 10, a baby shower was held to welcome Sylvia Kathleen Viola Lascelle to the world. Proud parents, Bea and Larry Lascelle along with big sister Keira and big brother Aiden, grandparents Jim and Kathy Lascelle of Edam and great-grandparents, Les and Mary Kish of Regina welcomed Sylvia June 15.

Congratulations to Ron and Gisele Bec, who were the winners of the July trip of the month draw, with Michael and Pauling Kobes winning $100.

A bridal shower was held for bride-elect, Ashley Blanchette, daughter of Bob and Debbie Blanchette of Vawn/Edam. Ashley will be marrying Joshua Kehler of Edmonton, Alta., son of Paul and Gail Kehler of Edmonton. Ashley and Joshua will be making their home in Edmonton with their son Rylan, where Ashley is employed as a dental assistant and Joshua owns a photography business, Joshua Kehler Photography. In lieu of thank you cards the couple will be making a donation to the Stollery Children`s Fund in Edmonton. Congratulations to you both and may you have a long and happy marriage.

Registration for hockey, Learn to Skate, Star Skate and curling will take place Sept. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the rink. If you are unable to attend you can pick up a registration form at the post office. Fees are posted at the post office as well.

Well that is all that I have for this week. It will be good to get back into a routine with school starting this week and seeing all my kids again.
