Gary Fjellgaard, Saskia and Darrel bring their Western and Prairie Roots show to Maymont Memorial Hall March. 18.

Partial proceeds from a concert at Maymont Memorial Hall March 18, featuring Gary Fjellgaard with Saskia and Darrel, will benefit Glenburn Regional Park.

The concert, slated to begin at 7 p.m., brings renowned musician Fjellgaard back to the Northwest.

Fjellgaard is at the peak of his career, touring all across Canada and Europe with his wife Lynne, and their Maymont friends, Saskia and Darrel.

Maymont based, singer songwriters, Saskia and Darrel organize and play well over 100 partial benefit concerts each year. They play as a duo or together with Fjellgaard.

Saskia says she realized early in her career how rewarding and worthwhile it was to combine raising awareness, raising funds for today's pressing issues and community projects along with making the music she loves.

"Where ever we play we leave behind a sense of fellowship, hope, joy, and lots of laughter, along with funds we are able to raise and an evening filled with music," Saskia adds.

Fjellgaard is bringing his Western and Prairie Roots Trio back home to Saskatchewan. They are stopping in for concerts at community halls and small theatres with new stories after their extensive touring adventures nationally and internationally

From Halifax to Hamburg, this trio has played for appreciative audiences but they always stop at home, where the fans not only love but understand their music. Songs about Louis Riel, gophers, windswept prairies and the simplicity of heartland living stir the imagination and memories of concert goers and keep them coming back
