The issue of what to do about a local improvement on 100th Street has been settled.

Council voted 5-1 for final passage of a local improvement bylaw on 100th Street between 27th and 25th Avenues. The bylaw authorizes construction to start on sub-grade, storm sewer and pavement.

Councillor Trent Houk was the lone vote against the local improvement, which had been a topic of discussion at council due to an unsuccessful petition drive launched by local residents against the costs of the proposed project.

A sum of $204,845.42 is to be paid by the municipality and the sum of $130,682.08 to be paid by benefiting landowners by way of special assessment.
