Arrest made in Happy Inn robbery case

An 18-year-old male has been arrested in connection to a recent Happy Inn off sale robbery and other incidents.

An 18-year-old male has been arrested in connection to a recent Happy Inn off sale robbery and other incidents.

According to police, Arlen Bernard Wapass of North Battleford faces seven charges including sexual assault, break and enter of a residence, assault, robbery with a weapon, disturbing the peace, overcoming resistance and failure to comply with probation order.

Wapass appeared in provincial court Wednesday morning in North Battleford.

The arrest was made in connection to the robbery at Happy Inn on 101st Street in North Battleford May 16 at 10 p.m. According to the RCMP, during that incident the clerk suffered minor injuries. Police began an investigation and took down several statements in connection to it.

May 17, police received more complaints in relation to several criminal code offences including a break and enter to a residence on Trudeau Street as well as two reports of thefts and an assault. Police also say they received a report of sexual assault against a 17-year-old female.
