North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services personnel say they have responded to two intentionally-set fires in one week.

On Friday they reported that fire crews were sent to the 1400 Block of 103rd Street, responding to a vehicle on fire.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze. It was quickly determined to be intentionally set. RCMP were also on scene and took over the investigation.

The previous night, a person or persons attempted to set a garage on fire in

the 100 Block alleyway between 103rd and 104th Streets.

Fortunately, according to the fire department, the blaze burnt itself out without

spreading to the garage.

According to the fire department, the RCMP believed the same individual(s) were responsible for both fires. That morning, the fire department reported they had been advised that two people had been taken into custody and that charges were pending against both individuals.

The investigation continues and anyone with further information are asked to contact the

Battlefords Detachment of the RCMP.
