The author of a book published by Turner-Warwick printers of North Battleford in 1983 is to be inducted into the Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame May 30.

James F. "Stocky" Edwards, who co-authored Kittyhawk Pilot with Michel Lavigne, is among four inductees this year into the hall of fame located at Wetaskiwin, Alta.

The other inductees are Joseph F. "Frank" Henley, Victor Bennett and John Sandford.

The CAHF was created to honour those individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to aviation and aerospace in Canada and to collect, preserve, exhibit and interpret artifacts and documents.

The hall of fame recognizes outstanding accomplishment in Canadian Aviation by individuals and by aviation-related organizations.

The hall of fame features photographs and artifacts of all inductees. CAHF also maintains an archival record of material related to inductees, including memoirs, documents, publications, log books, personal papers, photographs, books, uniforms, medals and other items relating to individuals and organizations inducted into CAHF.

The 40th annual induction ceremony and dinner will be held at the Canada Air and Space Museum in Ottawa.

John Chalmers, historian, with the CAHF, says in addition to announcing the induction of Edwards, he is interested in information about Lavigne. He can be contacted at [email protected].
