B’fords RCMP Weekly Report: Multiple weapons charges after man spotted with a firearm

460 calls for service include 81 disturbance calls.

A 24-year-old man is facing charges in connection to at least two break and enters at Cochin Nov. 7. RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.

THE BATTLEFORDS — Battleford RCMP responded to 460 calls for service during the time period from Wednesday, Nov. 3 to Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Five missing persons reported.

Two investigations remain active.

25 assault investigations.

• Report of an in-progress altercation between two people at a residence on the 1400 block of 109th Street in North Battleford at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 2. Upon attending a male in his 40s was located with injuries to his face and head. He did not require any medical treatment. A 41-year-old woman is set to appear in court on Nov. 17 charged with one count of assault.

• 911 call shortly before 4 p.m. Nov. 4 reporting a man armed with a shotgun confronting another man near a residence on the Red Pheasant First Nation. The suspect fled after a brief altercation. The victim was not injured during the incident. A 34-year-old was later arrested and remanded into custody until Monday Nov. 6, when he appeared on several charges including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

• A warrant of arrest has been issued for a 43-year-old man from North Battleford for assault and assault while choking, A call was received of an incident on the 1300 block of 95th Street in North Battleford on the morning of Nov. 6. Over the course of the investigation, it was learned the accused had been involved in an altercation with an occupant of the home the previous evening. The victim had sustained minor injuries to her arms and neck but did not require medical attention at the time of the report.

• 911 call of an assault at a residence on 33rd Street in Battleford at 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 6. Victim reported getting into an argument with another youth known the them. The suspect assaulted the victim then fled. The accused was located a short time later and arrested and held in custody. A 15-year-old youth appeared in provincial court on Nov. 7 charged with assault and failing to comply with a release order.

Eight break and enter investigations.

• 911 call of a possible break and enter in progress in Cochin on Clement Crescent at 5 a.m. on Nov. 7. A 24-year-old male suspect was located and arrested after a brief foot pursuit by responding members and is facing charges in connection to at least two break and enters from early this date. Matter remains under investigation.

• Call received of a man in possession of a firearm on 110th Street in North Battleford shortly before 6 p.m. Nov. 3. Patrols were made and the suspect was located near a residence on the 900 block of 105th Street. After further investigation a search warrant was executed on a home on 105th Street which yielded a firearm, a small amount of meth amphetamine, and stolen property. A 33-year-old man was remanded into custody and appeared on Nov. 4t on charges of obstruction, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, uttering threats, possession of a weapon contrary to an order and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

• Report of a break and enter in progress at a residence on St. Laurent Drive in North Battleford shortly after 5 p.m. on Nov. 5. Several suspects were located and detained upon police arrival and a rifle was recovered during the course of the investigation. Three suspects were ultimately taken into custody on numerous charges.
