Bjorkdale News: Skating rink Ladies Night Out a success

The Ladies Night Out was a successful fundraiser for the Bjorkdale skating rink.

BJORKDALE — Ayden Kehrig played in the Alberta Champions Cup tournament on the May 1 weekend in Edmonton, Alta. Her team went undefeated the entire tournament in the pool of 2007-08. The girls claimed victory in the championship game coming home with championship rings and likely many memories.

The last day of the kids in the kitchen was on Wednesday, May 4 with more than18 kids in attendance. The kids made their own meatballs and stroganoff noodles with a veggie bag to go. Thanks again to Stan and Beth Bentz for leading this program.

The Ladies Night Out was a successful fundraiser for the Bjorkdale skating rink. All the ladies in attendance enjoyed making their own pysanky (Ukrainian style) Easter egg. Thank you to all the businesses who donated raffle items as well. Over $550 was made for the Bjorkdale Skating rink.

The Village of Bjorkdale will be picking up any garden scraps and tree branch’s and debris every Monday until the end of June. If you have an excessive amount of tree debris, please contact the Village office ahead of time to arrange for pick up.
