BUH Foundation cash lottery - previous purchaser draw winner delighted

"Are you kidding me?" demanded Bev Esquirol of Edam, when she was informed her lottery ticket number had been pulled for the previous purchaser draw of $10,000 Oct. 9.

"Are you kidding me?" demanded Bev Esquirol of Edam, when she was informed her lottery ticket number had been pulled for the previous purchaser draw of $10,000 Oct. 9.

"What luck! I actually had called for my tickets at the last minute on Friday after hearing the advertisement on the radio. You know I believe in supporting local health care in The Battlefords and have been buying these tickets for years to support the Foundation, never expecting to win," noted Bev, then added, "but I'm sure happy someone picked our ticket!"

That someone was Roger Giesbrecht, long-time volunteer and supporter of BUH Foundation, who happened to be visiting the office that day.

There are still 23 draws to take place and $150,000 still to be won. The next deadline is Oct. 25 at 5 pm for the Luck of the Draw, two $5,000 draws.

The 50/50 add-on, available with your lottery ticket, is also proving very successful. As of Oct. 12 the winning amount is over $43,000 and this amount will only climb as they are only 80 per cent sold out.

Tickets are $40 each or three for $100, with only 14,000 available. They can be purchased at BUH Foundation's office, BUH Foundation's canteen/gift shop, and in the main lobby of BUH. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 306-446-6652 or toll-free 1-888-946-4284. All winners' names will be published in the Battlefords News-Optimist, announced on CJNB/Q98/The Rock and CJNS radio stations and posted on BUH Foundation's website, www.buhfoundation.com.

The 50/50 add-ons are available at one for $10 or three for $25 and can only be purchased in conjunction with a $100,000 cash lottery ticket.

The $100,000 cash lottery is BUH Foundation's largest fundraiser and proceeds from this year's lottery have been allocated towards the purchase of a new $550,000 digital fluoroscopy unit for the medical imaging (X-ray) department at BUH.
