Building permit values down again in NB

It is beginning to be a familiar refrain for 2012: "Building permits values down for the month in North Battleford".

July numbers saw a similar story to what has gone on most of this year. Despite a slight increase in building permits numbers from 15 in July 2011 to 17 in July 2012, building permit values dropped from $12,266,500 down to $1,149,000.

Permits issued include three for new dwellings for $770,000, two garage/carport permits for $45,000, seven residential alterations for $131,000, two commercial alterations for $47,000, one industrial alteration for $150,000, and two removal/demolitions for $6,000.

Overall, for the year through July 2012, 83 building permits have been issued for $20,617,900, compared to 78 for $50,590,600 issued through July 2011.

Building permit numbers were submitted as usual by city building inspector Jerry Wintonyk.
