A man wanted by RCMP on weapons and violent offences has pleaded not guilty in North Battleford Provincial Court.

Cody Caron, 38, is facing about 28 charges including assault with a weapon, break and enter, possession of a weapon while prohibited and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Earlier this year Caron was the subject of an RCMP public alert when they were searching for him. He was arrested and released on bail in May.

Caron is back in custody and appeared in court by telephone July 6.

The Crown is proceeding by indictment against Caron and a trial is set in North Battleford Provincial Court on Oct. 20. Crown Prosecutor Steven Laroque told the court he expects to call four witnesses.
