Chase Hamilton arrested, in court for armed robbery

The North Battleford man wanted for a violent armed robbery in Lloydminster has been apprehended.

Chase Hamilton was arrested Tuesday morning, Oct. 8 in North Battleford, says the Battlefords RCMP.

A manhunt had been ongoing for Hamilton in the past number of days. RCMP conducted searches that day at two residences in North Battleford in an effort to locate Hamilton. Hamilton was arrested and appeared in provincial court Wednesday morning before Judge Dan O'Hanlon.

Hamilton faces a multitude of charges with several stemming from the Sept. 27 armed robbery in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. Those Lloydminster charges include using a firearm, committing aggravated assault, pointing a firearm, unlawful confinement, use of a weapon (bear spray) in committing an assault, use of a weapon (knife), use of a weapon (wooden block), possessing a firearm without a licence, stealing a motor vehicle, choking, knowingly uttering a threat to cause death and use of a firearm while committing robbery with a weapon.

His other charges including mischief and two breaches of probation from June 30, while his newest charges are unlawful possession of meth and cocaine charges from Oct. 8, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Hamilton was remanded to Thursday morning, Oct. 10 for a bail hearing. The Crown is opposing Hamilton's release.
