The Connaught Elementary School received a generous grant from the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation - to help rebuild the school library.

The third attempt for the school to obtain the funds proved to be the charm when they received a $50,000 grant toward the purchase of new books and education resources.

The grant will allow the school to purchase new library books directly through Indigo Books, Chapters or Coles Books over a period of three years.

According to the foundation it has committed more that $10.5 million to 110 high need schools nationally.

The goals for the funds received are to improve the selection of the library collection, provide a book for each student to have at home and increase literacy within the school community.

Tonya Lehman, vice-principal said, "offering kids a variety of literature enhances students' love of reading."
