A coroner's inquest is to be held in North Battleford in connection to the death of Ida Paul.

Paul, 34, died in June 2009 in Battlefords Union Hospital. She had been in the custody of the RCMP in North Battleford immediately prior to being taken to hospital. The inquest will be held at Don Ross Centre from Dec. 6-10 beginning at 10 am.

The inquest has been called in accordance with the Coroners Act, 1999, which states the Chief Coroner shall hold an inquest into the death of a person who dies while an inmate at a jail or a correctional facility, unless the coroner is satisfied the death was due entirely to natural causes and was not preventable.

Presiding as coroner will be Keith Kilback of Regina.
