Country Corner members on the move

Country Corners Multiple 4-H has been busy. Club jackets were purchased and they all look very nice. The beef project did a mini-judging clinic on member made collages. The beef tour is planned for Feb 18.

Country Corners Multiple 4-H has been busy.

Club jackets were purchased and they all look very nice.

The beef project did a mini-judging clinic on member made collages. The beef tour is planned for Feb 18.

Light horse members plan to start riding in May. They are going to go to the Equine Expo in Saskatoon.

Small engines members worked on a dirt bike. They cleaned the carburetor and learned how to take out bolts without a head.

Archery members plan to go to Battlefords Bait and Tackle in February for bow adjustments and shooting tips.

Donkey members are planning to do a donkey demonstration at the regional show in June.

Congratulations to the junior curling team who took home bronze at regional curling.

District No. 34 has two new clubs, the Rockin' H from Hafford and Ride em' and Slide em', a future leaders club from the Battlefords. At the provincial level there is a new executive director, Lee Walarius, accounting clerk Sherry Wailing and South East Regional Specialist Rochelle Weinheimer.

We have many exciting events coming up. The 4-H works a bingo Feb 9. Feb 10 is Country Corners speeches at 1 p.m. at Eagle Hills School. We are also doing a bottle drive that day. The Equine Expo is Feb 15-17. The Prairieland Youth Leadership Conference is Feb. 24-25 in Saskatoon. Northwest regional ski day at Table Mountain is March 2. Beland Hauling has generously donated money to the club so that the members can go skiing. Thank you very much! April 20 is the deadline for the 4-H digital photo contest.

Two members from our club have been selected to go to the Citizenship Seminar in Ottawa April 12-18. Congratulations Tiniesha Yarrow and Jamie Schwark.

April 20-21 is a grooming and judging clinic in Lloydminster. Participants must pre register.

2013 is the celebration of 100 years of 4-H in Canada. 2017 is the 100th year of 4-H in Saskatchewan.

Finally, it is not too late to join 4-H. Members can be age 6 to 25. Country Corners membership fee is $20. Everyone is welcome, feel free to contact our amazing general leader Tanya Beland at 306-937-2980.
