Murder charges laid, and one gets reduced to manslaughter

Even more charges for Lloydminster man

Jason Krysta, 31, who is out on bail for weapons and violence-related charges in two provinces, now faces several more charges — three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of the proceeds of crime and two counts of failing to comply with release conditions.The charges were laid after Lloydminster Alberta RCMP Dog Services and the Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section executed what they described as multiple search warrants and enforcement actions on homes and vehicles between May 17 and 18, seizing suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, MDMA, prescription pills and an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency. On these additional charges, Krysta is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster, Alta., court on June 14.

Krysta also has charges out of Lloydminster, Sask., and Red Deer. Alta., ranging from assault and theft to robbery with a firearm and threatening to cause death.

Crime Stoppers weekly wanted list

Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers has released a list of four wanted individuals for the week ending May 27. Police are looking for Steven Cook (Constant) of Cumberland House, Logan Taylor Marshall, Myles-Brandon Sanderson and Vincent Roy.

One of six arrested in murder of North Battleford man sentenced to 15 years

Tye Partridge of Moosomin First Nation has been sentenced for manslaughter, after having originally been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Damian Moosomin. Partridge also pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated assault, and was sentenced to two years concurrent on that charge

Three arrested after nearly two-year investigation into death at Shellbrook hospital

Evan Ledoux, Curtis Ledoux and Tyson Lachance were all in custody for other reasons when they were arrested and charged in relation to the 2020 death of 20-year-old Wesley Custer.

On the evening of Friday, Aug. 21, 2020, Wesley Custer was brought to the Shellbrook Hospital in Shellbrook with serious injuries. He died shortly afterwards and his death was determined to be suspicious.

Lachance is charged with second-degree murder, Evan Ledoux is charged with manslaughter and Curtis Ledoux is charged with accessory after the fact.

Saskatoon police looking for man charged with first-degree murder

Saskatoon police are requesting assistance in locating a man charged in Saskatoon’s latest homicide, but they are cautioning against approaching him and warn that he is believed to be in possession of a firearm.

Jonathan Ouellet-Gendron, 33, is a suspect in the homicide of Brandon Baxandall that occurred on May 19 in the 700-block Melrose Avenue.

A 33 year old has also been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Two times in a week SPS officers fall down stairs with suspect

In two separate incidents, Saskatoon Police Service officers fell down stairs with struggling suspects, resulting in injuries to all. Two men have been charged with assaulting police officers.

Public helped out in Weyburn

As the result of an on-going investigation, and with the assistance of community residents, the Weyburn Police Service successfully obtained and executed a search warrant on two locations in the city on May 24, which yielded several items of stolen property and the arrest of a man and woman.

Both individuals were remanded in custody pending a court appearance.

Weyburn Police Service keeps busy

The Weyburn Police Service responded to 107 calls for service during the period of May 16 to 22, resulting in a total of 28 charges. Of the charges, 22 were laid under the Criminal Code of Canada and six under the Traffic Safety Act.

One of the calls police dealt with was received through 911 reporting an individual was assaulted and threats of harm were made late Saturday night. Through investigation it was determined that two suspects assaulted the victim and a weapon was involved. This matter is still under investigation and charges are pending.
