MAIDSTONE — Update: The dangerous persons alert issued by Maidstone RCMP has been cancelled. The black Ford Mustang and two of its occupants have been located on Onion Lake Cree Nation. Two adult males are in police custody.

Residents of the RM of Britannia and Lloydminster no longer need to shelter in place.

If a heightened risk to public safety is identified, RCMP will alert the public.

To report information relating to the activities of these suspects or the suspect vehicle, please call Maidstone RCMP at 306-893-4800.

Original release: Maidstone RCMP are investigating reports of shots fired at residence in the RM of Brittania from a black, newer model Ford Mustang. The same vehicle is suspected of shots fired at a residence in Lloydminster and an attempted fuel theft in RM of Britannia. At this time, it’s not believed to be connected to the James Smith Cree Nation investigation.

RCMP say if you are in the area, seek immediate shelter/shelter in place. Do not leave a secure location. Do not approach suspicious persons. Do not pick up hitch hikers. Report sightings of vehicle or info to police or 911.
