A fire alarm alerted occupants of 1091 - 99th St. to a fire Thursday morning.
North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to the alarm at 10 a.m. and found a small fire smoldering on the roof where an auxiliary power plant exhaust exited the building.
The fire department says workmen were installing a new power plant and exhaust ignited some of the framing that was located too close to the exhaust.
The fire was quickly doused with minimum damage to the building. Firefighters were on the scene for an hour and 45 minutes.
