SASKATOON — Saskatoon Transit is reducing transportation barriers to voting polls for the provincial and civic elections, by providing a special pass for free transit service on Oct. 28 and Nov. 13, according to the City of Saskatoon.

This free service enables every resident the opportunity to reach their polling station conveniently and affordably, the city states in a press release.

Find the free pass at SaskatoonTransit.ca or pick one up at the Transit Customer Service Centre, City Hall, Civic Leisure Centres or a Saskatoon Public Library. A printed pass is not required; electronic versions on mobile phones will be accepted. Simply show a printed, downloaded, picture or screenshot version of the pass to the operator upon boarding.

The pass is for use on each election day only – Oct. 28 (provincial election) and Nov. 13 (civic election). The pass can be used multiple times on fixed-route, OnDemand and Access Transit and will expire at the end of service each day.

Trips can be planned using the mobile app Transit or Google Maps Transit up to two weeks in advance to help find the best route to a polling station.
