The Calgary Police Service has arrested a man wanted by Battlefords RCMP on several serious charges.

RCMP say 37-year-old Christopher Passley was the subject of an inter-provincial warrant on charges of assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, failure to comply and failure to appear in court. The first two charges are related to an Aug. 17 incident.

Passley was released from custody Sept. 4, and police say he fled the province sometime before his scheduled court date of Oct. 2. A warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear and the warrant was later expanded to include Alberta.

According to the RCMP, Passley will be held in custody for up to six days in Alberta to allow time to arrange his transportation back to North Battleford where he will be brought before the provincial court to deal with his charges.

That court date has yet to be determined.
