Team lead Lyla Johnson of Information Services Corporation had a big cheque for $2,000 to present to fundraising chair Dan Garvey of Habitat for Humanity - the Battlefords, to go towards their first build project in the community. The cheque was presented formally on Wednesday afternoon to Habitat. Ed Truelove, chair of Habitat Battlefords - My First Home Inc., says the donation brings Habitat very close to meeting their fundraising target of $100,000.

The organization already has land picked out on 106th Street in North Battleford to build a proposed duplex, and is looking at 2014 as a likely time to commence what would be the first Habitat build in the Battlefords.
