Kindersley RCMP are making it known there have been two unconfirmed sightings of high risk sex offender Michael Stanley in the area.
Reports have come in that he may have been seen on foot in that area a little before 1 pm Thursday.
As a precaution, and to ensure childrens' safety, the RCMP contacted the local schools advising of this information. The schools initiated a "hold and secure" mode. All students were being kept inside.
Parents were advised to pick up their children from school at the end of the day. Staff at the local schools were asked to send children home with their own parents and not have them go home with another child's parent.
Stanley, who is 48 years old, had left Edmonton and had cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet in Lloydminster on Oct. 1. The bracelet was later found on the roof of a local business.
He is described as Metis, 5 foot 9 inches, 190 lbs, black hair and brown eyes. He may be driving a purple 1996 Chevrolet Trail Blazer with license plate BHD1954. Stanley is wanted for breach of conditions.
Kindersley RCMP say they are closely monitoring the situation and will keep the public informed. They also are asking that if he is spotted that he is not to be approached and to call 911 with your information.
