Hwy 123 reopens north of Carrot River after fatal rollover

CARROT RIVER — Two people are dead after a single vehicle rollover just after noon Tuesday on Highway 123, approximately 24 km north of the junction of Highways 123 and 55, north of the community of Carrot River.

There were six occupants in the vehicle. A 41-year-old male and a 38-year-old female, both from Cumberland House, were declared deceased by EMS at the scene. Their families have been notified. The four other occupants were transported to hospital with injuries described as serious.

Highway 123 was closed during initial investigation but has since re-opened. Carrot River RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
