House fire investigated

A house fire in Riverview early Thursday morning is being described as suspicious by fire officials and is under investigation by the RCMP. North Battleford firefighters were called to a the fire in the 700 block of 100 Street.

North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services personnel were on the scene of a house fire in Riverview for about two hours Thursday.

A house fire in Riverview early Thursday morning is being described as suspicious by fire officials and is under investigation by the RCMP.

North Battleford firefighters were called to a the fire in the 700 block of 100 Street. Fire crews arrived to find a single story structure with smoke showing from multiple locations.

Fire crews deployed one of the department's new Dry Sprinkler Powder Aerosol (DSPA) knockdown tools that aided crews in quickly bringing the fire under control. No one was found in the structure and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

Fire crews responded with two fire apparatus and 15ddd firefighters. Crews were on the scene for approximately two hours. WPD Ambulance and RCMP also attended.

At just after noon Thursday, NBFES personnel assisted at the scene of a single vehicle accident on Highway 40 at Sweet Grass First Nation. A vehicle was submerged in a slough and two victims were assisted by firefighters, EMS and RCMP.
