REGINA — After a quarter century at the helm of the province’s premier medical facility for kids – Brynn Boback-Lane the CEO and president of the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, is stepping away from the post and moving down the road to retirement – although she is reluctant to call it that.
“I’m calling it something a little different – rewire-ment,” Boback-Lane said in an interview with CKRM’s Good Morning Saskatchewan.
Being a part of the fabric of this province is something she says she will continue to do – citing a love for this community as something that will continue to drive her pursuits in the future.
More than $125,000 million has been raised for the hospital over the course of Boback-Lane’s 25-year tenure in the post.
With this new path, Boback-Lane says that she’s reflected on whether or not the decisions made over the last 25 years that have been made around the hospital have been the right decisions.
“We wonder if we did the right thing. I’ll give you a statistic that is staggering. Over the last year alone, over 80,000 visits were made to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital from 499 communities – I think we got it right”.
In 2020, Brynn Boback-Lane received the Children’s Healthcare Canada Award for Individual Leadership. This prestigious award honours individuals who have devoted their careers to enhancing the health of children and youth in Canada.
Brynn has been a pillar of Saskatchewan pediatric care – and her pursuits have affected thousands of sick kids and their families. While her work with the hospital will be missed – when asked what is in store next for her – she simply said – “stay tuned.”
