There was a lockdown reported at Island Lake First Nation School last week.
According to Loon Lake RCMP the incident happened Friday afternoon around 2 p.m. RCMP in Loon Lake received a complaint about a student reported to have a handgun at the school.
As a result the school was placed on lockdown. The youth had left the school grounds. He was later arrested without incident.
The investigation later determined that the weapon was a CO2 handgun, a pellet gun. The pellet gun resembles a water pistol.
Police also say a further update on charges is expected.
