Man, 34, makes first court appearance for Christmas Day death on Muskoday First Nation

David Duong made his first appearance Wednesday on a manslaughter charge.

PRINCE ALBERT – Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit charged 34-year-old David Duong with manslaughter in relation to the death of Sidney Bear from Muskoday First Nation on Christmas Day.

Duong made his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court Wednesday morning. 

According to Prince Albert RCMP, they received a report at about 6 a.m. on Dec. 25 of an injured man at a home on Muskoday First Nation. Bear was pronounced deceased at the scene and his death was determined to be suspicious.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit, Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service and Saskatchewan RCMP General Investigation and Forensic Identification Sections assisted Prince Albert RCMP with the investigation.
